I know, I know . . . but the recipient was thrilled with it! :)

They were mine!

Beret madness

Da Sproglet acquired them so I suppose I ought to call them gifts!

Thinking Lady!

Not my gifts!

Xmas stuff

I made these for Da Sproglet to give as gifts .. so it sort of counts! :)

Bright gift

arm warmers1

My disabled friend (in her eighties) wanted a pair of arm warmers. I suggested a pastel or muted shade - she wants the brightly coloured pair because she told me: "I don't do muted!" Lol!

Da Sproglet's other bolero!

Da Sproglet's Bolero

Awful yarn to knit with (the pink one) but at least she can bung it in the washing machine and tumble dry it. My instructions were to 'gentle' wash and 'cool' tumble dry and, if!!!, she follows them it should be fine. If not then it might be an addition to my 'Barbie doll' knit collection! :)

Gift for M.

Turquoise hat (gift)

The methodist minister who conducted my mother's funeral has suffered the return of her cancer and the treatment has meant that she is suffering from hair loss. So I made a parcel of three of my hats and sent them off to her. I received a message from her, via a friend, that she is too unwell to write to thank me but wished me to know that the hats were appreciated and that this one is the one that she wears around the house. The chenille wine coloured one is reserved for special occasions along with the green Fair Isle beret.

Thrilled to think that they are being put to a good use. :) However, I would be more pleased if she had no use for them at all and here's hoping that she manages to beat the dreaded 'C' yet again.

Unfinished business.

All unfinished - help!

All of the above have been knitted for my daughter's collection of Blythe, Dahl and Moof dolls so they are gifts in one sense. However, they are made to be sold but as she has the dolls (and I only have the measurements) I have to finish them all off and send them to her so that she can dress the dolls, photograph them and then - hopefully - sell them. My problem is I love knitting - but hate the sewing up side of it! These garments are so small you find yourself slowly going mad as you try to stitch them together. Hopefully, I'll stay sane long enough to finish them off. Crafty, clever peeps out there who like to do this sort of work are always welcome at my place - I'll make the cake and provide the coffee! :)

New Baby Set

I decided, after making the blue sweater, that maybe I should make a smaller set for the baby for his first few days!
So Here goes:

Child's jumper

Green jumper with pink stripes

If you can remember the yellow crochet hat you will know that my friend's granddaughter adores pink but just doesn't look right in it! So I got out my trusty knitting needles and set to work. As you can see it is green around the top half but mostly pink around the rest of the body. This should give the little girl the thrill of being able to look at what looks like a mostly pink jumper!! Fingers crossed that she likes it as my friend is giving it to her granddaughter this weekend! :)

The yarn is just an ordinary double knitting wool but it's one of those that you can machine wash and tumble dry.

... and now the crochet hat for the same small child!

Crochet hat (child) from above

Thought one knitted hat and one crochet hat would give her a bit more choice in the head-wear department! :)

This version used double knitting wools that could be machine washed and cool tumble dried! What a boon! I can remember years of hand-washing various garments (not that I don't still do it if necessary I might add) because if you didn't the jumper you spent hours making would end up in the doll's wardrobe!
